Dance classes

FOLLOWING the interest in Scottish Country Dance classes for adults in Ballymoney, The Kingdom of Dalriada Ulster Scots Society are pleased to announce that they will commence from (tomorrow) Wednesday 26th September at Evergreen Social Centre, Edward Street from 8.30pm to 9.30pm for both men and women.

Mrs Elizabeth Brown Kerr, a well renowned dance tutor in the field of Scottish Country Dance will be the tutor, and is used to working with all abilities, so if you have never taken part, or you know a few moves, and would be interested in taking part then there is still room to join, just call down to the classes on a Wednesday night or call into the Ullans Centre for more details.

Cost is £2.00 per person per class which is paid each night you attend.

ARE you interested in music, art, drama, photography, local history or visual arts? Do you live in the Ballymoney Borough?

Would you like to have an input into planning some of the arts events which take place in the Borough?

If you can answer yes to all of these questions, then why not come along to a public meeting on Wednesday 26 September to elect members to serve on Ballymoney Borough Arts Committee?

The Committee meets five times a year and with financial support from Ballymoney Borough Council aims to develop and promote a programme of arts events and projects to suit most tastes and ages.

The Committee also runs an arts grants scheme to support local organisations and individuals to develop events and projects.

New ideas are always appreciated so if you feel you would like to help plan future programmes, then come along to Ballymoney Town Hall on Wednesday 26 September at 8pm. You will be made very welcome.

Arts club

A NEW arts club is beginning for young people in Dunloy.

Step On Stage is open to young people aged 6 - 16 years old and will hold its opening night on Tuesday, September 25th at 8pm.

The venue will be Dunloy Church Hall on the Station Road.

The club will feature drama, music and dance and costs £10 for the full term until Christmas.

The class will work towards presenting Snow White and the Seven Dwarves in December.

Forest Walk

Glens Red Squirrel Group will be leading a walk in Glenariff Forest Park. This will be a walk to the lesser visited parts of Glenariff.

The route will be towards the back of the Forest taking in part of the “Scenic Trail”. It will cross the Inver River and follow the high trail that gives panoramic views of Glenariff Glen and the Plateau behind Lurigethan Mountain.

This is just one of the free walks featuring in the Causeway Coast & Glens Heritage Trusts Guided Walks Programme for 2012 and will take place on Tuesday 25th September at 6:00pm, meeting at Glenariff Forest Park Exhibition Centre (beside Glenariff Tea House). The walk is expected to last approximately 2 hours. Walking boots essential.
