Defenders parade

Crown Defenders Flute Band, Cloughmills will be holding their annual parade on Wednesday, 3rd August.

As usual the parade will attract a large number of bands from almost every corner of the province.

The parade will get underway at 8.30pm sharp from the Drumadoon Road.

As always, a large crowd will be expected on the streets so get there early to ensure a good vantage point along the route, said a spokesman for the band.

The committee and members of the band would like to take this opportunity to thank the general public and anyone who has supported the band in any way over the past year.

BARK Open Day

BENVARDIN Kennels are holding an open day to mark their first birthday!

The Open Day will take place on August 6th from 1pm - 4pm and will feature all sorts of fun.

There will be a fun dog show, lots of fun for the children and the Guide Dog Association, the PDSA and the Dogs Trust will all be attending. Local vets will be on hand to provide information and promote animal health.

There will also be a dog competition with ten different categories to participate in.

Admission is free and there will be a barbecue provided by the Adelphi Hotel in Portrush with all proceeds going towards the kennels.

The organisers of the Open Day say it’s their way of thanking everyone who has supported Benvardin during this first year and who has rehomed a dog.

BALLYMONEY Old Vehicle Club have held a number of events over the last two months.

Finally on Wednesday, August 3 Clough Vintage Club will be holding a static display of motor cars and motorcyles in Clough from 6pm.

Stranocum dance

Stranocum and District Committee Association are holding a bbq and marque dance on Saturday, August 6 from 8pm.

The event will be held in Stranocum Hall and music will be provided by Solid Gold. Tickets are priced £12.50 and are available from local businesses and community members. For more information call 028 207 51676 or 028 207 41191.

Coffee evening

The Ladies Committee of Lavin L.O.L. 913 are having a Coffee Evening in Lavin Orange Hall. It will take place on Thursday 4th August at 7:30pm and will continue until 9:30pm.

There will also be a cake and craft stalls. Everyone is welcome to come along. Proceeds are in aid of the Hall Building Fund.

Old Tyme dance

BUSHMILLS Support Group for Marie Curie Cancer Care is holding an Old Time Dance in The Village Hall, Portballintrae on Friday, August 12.

Dancing from 9pm to 12am. Music by Sam and Willie O’Neill. Admission is £4 including supper. Proceeds for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Family Fun Day

A FAMILY Fun Day is being held in Liscolman Playing Fields on Saturday, August 6 from 1pm to 6pm.

On offer will be a climbing wall, archery, bouncy castle, face painting, seven-a-side tournament, tug-of-war, horseshoe throwing and much more.

There will also be a bbq and dog show from 3pm.

Admission is £2 per adult and £1 per child. Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy the craic.
