Derek Ryan to lay on special treat for Tullyglass Dancers

Now in the throes of fulfilling a hectic list of summer engagements, Derek plans to make up for lost time when he comes to the Tullyglass.

“It’s a while since we have been there and we have been working on our new stage show which we will feature there. We have made a number of innovations which we hope dancers will enjoy,” says Derek.

“It’s good to be going back to the Tullyglass which is one of the top venues. We have made many friends there in the past.”

The Carlow singer’s popularity continues to soar and he has a new CD in the pipeline which will further cement his status as the leading country band in Ireland.

“We have some interesting tracks on the CD and obviously we’re keeping our fingers crossed that it will get a favourable reaction from dancers and the record-buying public,” says Derek.

Derek and his band are due to go to Australia next month where they will appear at a number of prestigious venues but for the moment he is savouring the success of his latest single ‘Flowers in your hair’ which is proving a big hit.

His recently-released album ‘Country Soul’ is regarded as the best recorded in Ireland this year but for all his success Derek is certainly not resting on his laurels.

“We have other plans in the pipeline and we hope to break new ground in the near future,” says Derek, “While I am delighted with the progress we have made as a band we certainly don’t intend to rest on our laurels.”

For now, though, his whole focus is on Tullyglass House Hotel this Saturday.
