Dodds raises a laugh

THE Prime Minister poked fun at Northern Ireland MPs recently after North Belfast representative Nigel Dodds told parliament the province’s people were the happiest in the UK.

David Cameron was answering a question from the DUP man who was highlighting the findings from a report on the happiness levels among the different regions.

Mr Dodds told the PM to reduce fuel allowances in Northern Ireland because “one thing that overshadows that happiness is the high and escalating price of fuel”.

To raucous laughter from MPs Mr Cameron said: “I’m delighted to hear that people from Northern Ireland are the happiest in the United Kingdom.

“I have to say to the Honourable Gentleman that their representatives in this House do not always give that impression.”
