Dominic Kirwan to perform at Mayor’s charity concert

SINGING legend Dominic Kirwan will be performing ‘Live and Personal’ at Lagan Valley Island in Lisburn to raise funds for the Mayoral Charity, Lisburn 2gether Special Olympics Club.

The concert will take place on Wednesday March 21 with special guest Louise Morrissey.

Lisburn Mayor, Councillor Brian Heading, said: “It is great news for both the Council and my mayoral charity that we have managed to secure Dominic Kirwan for the concert. Dominic is a very talented country singer and dancer who tours all over the globe and has worked with many talented music stars such as Kenny Rodgers, Tammy Wynette and Don Williams.

“I know that country fans will be as excited as I am about the upcoming concert. While the concert is about celebrating St Patrick’s Day, all proceeds will be donated to my chosen charity, Lisburn 2gether Special Olympics Club. I would urge everyone to come along and enjoy a special night,” he concluded.

Louise Morrissey has long been one of Ireland’s best loved singers and entertainers.

Councillor Thomas Beckett, Chairman of the Council’s Leisure Services Committee, added: “Both Dominic and Louise have toured the globe as two separate acts and the Council is very pleased to bring them together at Lagan Valley Island.

“Their unique styles of country music will provide a very entertaining concert and I would encourage residents to purchase a ticket and enjoy the sights and sounds all in the aid of a very worthwhile local charity.”

The ‘Dominic Kirwan Live and Personal’ concert takes place at 8pm on Wednesday March 21, in the Island Hall, Lagan Valley Island.
