Drumaheagles band parade

Drumaheagles Young Defenders’ annual band parade was held on Saturday, August 15 and with government restrictions in place, it meant only Drumaheagles could take part.

It was decided that instead of collecting for band funds this year any money raised would be donated to MacMillan Cancer Care and Chest Heart & Stroke.

A spokesperson said: “We are pleased to announce that a total of £1,418.15 was collected on the day but we as a band will increase this tally to £1,500 so that it can be split evenly between the two charities.

“The above band would like to take this opportunity to thank the general public for their kind donations and continued support in these difficult times, the PSNI for their co-operation and the marshals who kindly took the time to help ensure our safety whilst on route.”
