Dust off your walking boots for Grand Canyon trek

Action Cancer are asking people in Banbridge to dust off their walking boots and take on a grand challenge by signing up for the Grand Canyon Trek, which takes place from April 16 to 23 2016.

The challenge begins with an acclimatisation walk through a spectacular volcanic canyon to the Colorado River followed by a drive along route 66 to the beginning of the main trek, starting from the Hualapai Hilltop.

Participants will follow a walking trail which is the only land access to Grand Canyon’s only village, Suapi Village. Trekkers will walk for up to 16km a day for five days exploring the Grand Canyons remote trails, red rock formationsand pretty creeks. Trekkers will be raising vital funds for Action Cancer’s range of early detection and support services for those suffering from cancer and their families. Ring 028 9080 3349 or email [email protected]
