Eclectic mix of music at the Market Place

The Market Place Theatre in Armagh is set to host a week of musical performances to cater for every taste starting with ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’.

In a new production that premiered to excellent reviews in London last year, the magic of Frank Capra’s iconic film is re-imagined as a radio play. This loving tribute to the golden era of the wireless is a fresh take on a heartwarming classic, and will be staged on Thursday 15th October at 8pm.

With an exciting blend of eclectic fiddle and guitar music, Zoë Conway and John Mc Intyre bring to the stage sympathetic arrangements of traditional Irish music, compositions and songs, old and new on Friday, October 16. Their recent critically acclaimed album ’Long Life To You’ has brought international attention to the duo. The musical career of Newry-born brothers Brendan and Declan Murphy, The 4 Of Us, spans more than two decades. They have notched up an enviable catalogue of timeless songs and six top 20 Irish charting albums. The 4 Of Us will perform on Saturday, October 17. ‘The Bjorn Identity’ - Ireland’s favourite Abba show, will perform on Friday, October 23 at 8pm. With stunning handmade replica costumes and a perfect copy of Benny’s famous white Yamaha piano, this show has all the glitz of the 70’s era and the best party night out in a theatre you will remember.
