Enjoy autumn arts and heritage events

NEWTOWNABBEY Borough Council has launched a range of seasonal arts and heritage workshops and events, guaranteed to help keep people busy from September through to December.

Taking place at the Museum at The Mill and the Courtyard Theatre in Ballyearl, the workshops and events will offer a wide variety of arts and heritage fun.

Adults can enjoy talks and workshops on a range of subjects including knitting, scrapbooking, seasonal comfort food, drawing, ceramics, Christmas chutneys and gifts and lots more. There will also be plenty to keep the kids entertained with fun workshops, including a fast and exciting lesson in the real Morse Code used on board the Titanic, Cowboys and Indians, Christmas crafts and a range of design days ideal for budding designers.

Whilst most of the events include a small fee, many of the workshops allow participants to take home their creations as a memento of their day. Free family fun days will also be taking place throughout the autumn months.

A brochure detailing all the upcoming events, which are supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, can be downloaded at www.newtownabbey.gov.uk/arts or hard copies can be requested by emailing [email protected]
