Ten dogs are currently awaiting adoption at the Ballymena rehoming centre, located at 60 Teeshan Road.

The organisation has recently made a number of changes to its adoption process, replacing its old system that required potential adopters to apply separately for each dog they were interested in. "Sometimes we were able to look for other matches if that dog wasn’t suitable, but not always,” Dogs Trust said.
“With our new system, we’ll still ask you to apply to adopt from us so we can find out all about you, your home and lifestyle. We’ll use that information to look at all available dogs at your local centres and try to find a great match for you.
"We’ll keep your application open for three months and keep looking for a suitable dog to introduce you to. If for some reason we don’t find the right dog in that time, you can reapply, and we’ll keep looking.”

5. Murphy
Labrador Murphy is an absolute gentleman who is looking for a retirement home where he will be given lots of love and attention in his older years. However, don't let his age fool you, as he will play all day with a tennis ball! A quieter home is ideal and he can live with dog savvy children who understand that Murphy wants to take life at a slower pace. Pending successful meets at the Rehoming Centre, he could potentially share his home with another calm dog. Murphy's home should ideally have a safe and enclosed garden space for him to potter around in and enjoy some play time. Photo: Dogs Trust Ballymena

6. Mia
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Mia is looking for someone special to spoil her and give her all the love and attention she deserves. Mia is living in a foster home at the minute and loves going for walks or pottering around the garden and investigating everything. She is quite content to snooze if the foster carer has to go out for a short time and loves to greet them with a waggy tail when they get back. She could live with another dog after successful meets at the rehoming centre. Photo: Dogs Trust Ballymena

7. Mars
Mars is a super handsome and friendly 3 month old German Shepherd cross puppy looking for his forever home. He is brilliantly clever and already knows how to sit on cue, knows down with lure, knows his name and will recall to it. Mars is very good on lead, doesn't pull and is working on his loose lead walking. He will need a home that will keep his mind active as well as his body because he loves a training session! Mars currently lives with two adult dogs that he loves to play with and take their lead so he would be available to home with another canine companion pending successful meets. 8. Bella
Bella is an absolutely beautiful five year old bulldog who adores nothing more than snuggles on the sofa with her favourite people. She's a brilliant character guaranteed to bring a smile to her new adopters, especially when she waves her paw for extra pets. Bella is slowly learning that walks can be fun and enjoys playing with toys at home. Bella is a superstar looking for a home where she would be the only dog/pet as she wants all the cuddles to herself and would rather not share the spotlight, but could have other dog friends visiting if the correct management is in place.
