Festive lights bright at switch-on

LURGAN town centre was filled with hundreds of excited people getting into the festive spirit at the annual Christmas lights switch-on last Friday.

The town shone bright as the crowds were entertained with live performances from the Little Stars Dance Academy, Smooth, the magical Colm Fitzpatrick and fun-filled festive characters.

The stage came alive with a sparkling performance from Kings Park and St Francis Primary School choirs singing Christmassy tunes and the sensational band ‘Easy Company’ rounding up proceedings.

Cool FM’s Connor Philips and Santa Claus, who arrived in style by fire engine, helped the Mayor of Craigavon, Councillor Carla Lockhart switch on the lights.

“The event was wonderful and a perfect start to the town’s festive celebrations,” said Mayor Lockhart. “Everyone enjoyed themselves and with great music and fun-filled family entertainment it was a great evening out for everyone.”
