Finvoy YFC member takes first place in Floral Art

Under the watchful eye of judge Alan Beatty, competitors showed off their creativity and skills as they delicately placed flowers, clipped leaves and tied ribbons to their beautiful arrangements.

The theme was interpreted in many different styles.

Over 450 competitors had taken part in the floral art heats and to get to the final was a remarkable achievement and gave finalists the opportunity showcase their artistic ability at a premiere venue.

Alan Beatty was the judge for the day, and following a tough assessment he congratulated all of the competitors on their designs and remarked on the excellent standard of arrangements that were on display.

YFCU President William Wilson was on hand to present the awards to the winners. Chelsea Gordon, Finvoy YFC clinched first place in the 12 to 16 years category. Rebecca Gowley, Ballywalter YFC came second and David Millar, Lisnamurrican YFC came third.

In the 16 to 25 years category Rachel Gibson, Trillick YFC came first, Laura McCullough, Spa YFC came second, while Melissa Millar, Lisnamurrican YFC came third.

The floral arrangements were then exhibited at the garden lawn for the duration of the show. YFCU would like to take this opportunity to thank Alan Beatty for his continued support of this event.
