The evening will commence at 10pm from the Diamond in Coleraine and all participants are encouraged to wear the hospice colour, purple, or a spooky costume in time for Halloween. Spot prizes will be awarded for the best dressed and most eye catching along with various other activities.

The event also offers the opportunity to walk in memory of a loved one. Northern Ireland Hospice will send all participants a memory card which can be personalized and decorated as you wish.

Walkers are then asked to bring their decorated cards on the night where they will be displayed with a candle, along with hundreds of others to form a sea of flickering lights as walkers return back to the Diamond shortly after Midnight.

Every pound donated or raised will make a difference says Lynn Boyce, NI Hospice Fundraiser.

“This year’s event is sure to be an unforgettable evening of fun,” she says. “Every pound raised by a Midnight Walker will make a significant difference to the lives of local patients living with a terminal illness. Registration for the event costs just £10 and with one in three people in Northern Ireland being touched by Hospice care, we are inviting everyone from the local community to join in and take part.”

All walkers are encouraged to raise a further £90 in sponsorship money which will provide three hours of nursing care to a patient being care for by Hospice. This will also bring the charity one step closer to their fundraising target of £10,000 for the event.
