Friendship Club at the Braid

SOMETHING new and exciting is happening on Wednesday nights at the Braid from this week.

Ballymena Friendship Club will open its doors at 7pm with the official launch on Wednesday.

The ‘Ballymena Friendship Club’ is the third such organisation to open up in the province, following the success of the Belfast and Londonderry Friendship Clubs, and will be open every Wednesday evening from 7pm – 9pm.

The Friendship Club is open to individuals from all communities but will aim to have a particular welcome for members of the Ethnic Minority Community and will contribute to the ethos of Ballymena Borough being seen as welcoming, friendly and ‘a great place to be’.

The Friendship Club will provide an informal, safe, shared cultural space to meet others and socialise. It will also provide a forum for dialogue, discussion and interaction.

The Friendship Club is facilitated, in partnership, by West Presbyterian Church, 1st Ballymena Presbyterian Church and Ballymena Inter Ethnic Forum.

It will run in the Braid Café, given in kind by Ballymena Borough Council.

The project is supported by PEACE III Programme managed for the special EU Programmes body by the North East Peace III Partnership and Ballymena Borough Council.
