Fun and games for children during Christian Endeavour event

NEWTOWNABBEY members of the Christian Endeavour joined their counterparts from Carrick and Larne at the East Antrim CE Union’s annual fun day in First Carrickfergus Presbyterian Church halls.

The youngsters enjoyed the chance to play games, learn about Jesus and meet new friends.

After checking in and being allocated to their teams, all the children watched videos until it was time to begin.

East Antrim Union president and leader of First Carrick Juniors, Lynda Anderson, who organised the event, welcomed everyone and conducted opening devotions.

All the teams competed simultaneously, moving effortlessly through all seven original and exciting games devised by Robert Penney of First Carrick. Points were awarded with the Bounty team winning with 180 points and Crunchie, in second place, with 172.

At half time, children and adults all enjoyed refreshments. There was time too to browse and purchase at the tuck shop and the CE stall before enjoying more games.

Everybody was honoured by a visit from the all-Ireland Christian Endeavour president, Mrs. Gwen Carson Ballyclare and her husband, the Revd. Stephen Carson, a former Irish CE Union president.

Mrs Carson based her talk on her presidential theme: “It is an adventure following Jesus”.
