Fundraisers for Community Rescue Service

It’s been a challenging time for charities during the lockdown but the local Community Rescue Service has been staying busy with fundraising events.

On Saturday, August 15, the Community Rescue Service held a static cycle ride at the front of their shop in Coleraine along with a street collection.

A charity spokesperson said: “A big ‘thank you’ to our volunteers who were on the spin bikes, those who held buckets, the volunteers of our CRS Emergency Bikes and all those who so generously donated. An amazing total of £1,495 was raised which will help the Volunteers continue the vital work they do.”

Later that month, the CRS held their first abseil on Ramore Head with 37 brave people completing it aged 8-60. The charity thanked everyone who took part, their sponsors, Gareth from Explore Outdoors, Steve Hodge mountaineering and their teams.
