Fundraising health and beauty fair in aid of Hospice

MAGHERAFELT Hospice Support Group is holding a health and beauty fair in the autumn in aid of charity.

All money raised will go towards the Northern Ireland Hospice and MAIL readers are encouraged to support this event to help organisers surpass last year’s total.

The holistic fair takes place in St Swithin’s Church Hall, Castledawson Road, on Tuesday, October 16 from 5.30pm until 10pm and a wide range of therapies will be offered courtesy of beauty therapists, including reflexology, massage, body stress release and iridology.

Colour analysis will be on offer to both men and women, with the aim of promoting individual holistic health and well-being. And people will have the chance to browse and purchase special Christmas gifts from crafters, which includes jewellery, books and candles as well as natural health foods.

Seasonal gifts such as Hospice Christmas cards and calendars will also be available for people to buy.

Organiser Emily Ferguson from the NI Hospice Magherafelt branch, said last year’s event was a great success and support would be greatly appreciated from the Mid-Ulster public.

The work of the Northern Ireland Hospice is invaluable to those living with a life-limiting illness, providing care to adults, children and young people both in the hospice and in their own homes.

Hospice services are provided free of charge and the charity relies on the support of the community. With that in mind, organisers are inviting everyone to come along to the health and beauty fair and support the charity.

The charity employs nurse specialists who care for around 120 patients with life-threatening illnesses such as cancer every year in the Mid-Ulster area.

With limited government funding, the Hospice relies heavily on voluntary donations and fundraising events such as this to raise the money to maintain its services. The total running costs for the NI Hospice services are around £6 million.

Admission to the Health and Beauty Fair is £5 which includes light refreshments. To purchase tickets contact Emily Ferson on 07513 855414 or alternatively you can pay at the door.

If any therapists would like to book a place the event, they can contact Emily - there is still availability and support is welcome.
