GCSE results: new NRC website provides options

GCSE results are approaching and for students across Northern Ireland the big question is: what happens now?

A website which went live this week, http://dontmissout.nrc.ac.uk/ provides answers and options. Developed by Northern Regional College, the website has been specifically designed to provide post GCSE students and their families with easy access to information on Further Education courses and college life.

NRC Student President Sarah Cassidy says the website is a great way to interact with GCSE students.

“This can be a stressful time for school leavers as they try to determine what course is right for them,” Sarah said.

She added: “The website has clear information on course content, employability and how students can progress into a certain career or university course.

“The website has a series of videos and podcasts which are a great way for students to become familiar with life at NRC and the facilities offered at each campus.”

Designed by leading Belfast branding consultancy McCadden and developed by web agency Eyekiller, the website also features a blog to provide regular updates containing useful tips for students, on how to improve employability and give them an insight into vast range of courses on offer

NRC Director, Trevor Neilands encouraged students to visit the site to see the learning opportunities available.

“NRC delivers courses and apprenticeships which develop the knowledge and skills, students require to progress to Higher Education or into a specific industry,” Trevor said.

He added: “The website is a useful tool for young people to ensure they don’t miss out on these opportunities as they can access information on courses from performing arts to engineering at our seven campuses.”
