Get ready to Rock the Point this August

A summer of spectacular music and entertainment is on the way to “Rock the Point” this Summer, from comedy to country, from celtic rock to pop, The Maid of the Mournes festival celebrating 25 years will be one long party in the County Down town of Warrenpoint.

A state of the art marquee will host the likes of country sensations Mike Denver and Nathan Carter, Ireland’s original supergroup Bagatelle, the outrageous Roy “Chubby” Brown and international superstars Smokie all at one venue over a week that will rival any other line up in Ireland this year.

Under the guidance of AJS promotions who have a decade of experience under their belts this year’s “Rock the Point” will be the perfect accompaniment to this hugely successful festival.

Tickets for all the shows are now on sale but patrons will be able to pay on the door.

The music kicks off with the superb Bagatelle and More Power to Your Elbow on Saturday, August 2.

Sunday, August 3 will see the introduction of Tyrone band The Whistlin Donkeys and the mutlti talented Mindbenders from the North West before the double bill of country on the Tuesday.

Mike Denver will be joined on stage by Johnny Brady and that’s sure to be a sell out with tickets already selling well such is the popularity of country music at the moment

The Wednesday night show is not for the faint-hearted, you have been warned as the UKs most outrageous comic Roy “Chubby” Brown performs his only Irish date this Summer.

Geordie Shore’s Joel Corry is the special guest on Thursday night as he hosts a massive Summer party as he takes to the decks on stage.

The house full signs are expected to go up on Friday, August 8 as Nathan Carter makes a return to local stages and will be joined by Ben Currie, with Brush Sheils supporting the legendery Smokie on Saturday night.

The new Maid of the Mournes will be crowned on Sunday night with the exciting Justin McGurk and the Boogie Men bringing the curtain down on a stunning week.
