Glarryford Women’s Institute held its AGM in the Farmer’s Hall on September 11.

President Marion Gregg welcomed everyone thanking them for working so hard and having a very successful year.

A special welcome to was offered to Ruth Orr of Cullybackey WI and tellers May Small and Marbeth Hill. The group also welcome a new member, Rhoda Mark.

The cup for most points in competitions during the year was won by Pat Nixon. September competition Last Rose of Summer was won by Isobel Barkley, second was Pat Nixon and third was Gertie Milligan.

Maragert Murray-Tiat was selected as new president and her first task was to thank Ruth and her helpers and present small gifts.

She also presented the outgoing president with the Friendship Bowl. After supper the meeting ended with singing of the Country Woman’s song.
