Glengormley writer to unveil her first published work

A GLENGORMLEY author will launch her first published work at St Bernard’s Pastoral Centre, Glengormley on Saturday, September 15.

Primary school teacher Eileen Martin, who has been writing since childhood, creating many stories and plays for children over the years, has penned ‘Special Moments Treasured Memories No Regrets’ based on her experiences with her ageing parents.

The book, published by Shanway Press, aims to encourage people to give help and hope to their ageing parents. It suggests that being supportive does not have to be a full-time caring commitment, arguing that small contributions can be equally rewarding to the whole family.

Eileen commented: “My hope is to encourage people to improve or influence the wellbeing and quality of life of people as they grow older.”

Based on Eileen’s own experiences and thoughts, the book is full of practical tips which are positive, uplifting and easy to follow.

Eileen has worked in Northern Ireland, London and Jordan. This is her first published work.

Copies of the book (priced £5) will be available at the launch, which starts at 11am. It is also available from Shanway Press - www.shanway.com - and all good bookshops.
