The powerful picture, captured by top Australian photographer, Andrew O’Toole, was awarded first place in the prestigious ‘One Shot Hair Awards’, staged by the globally recognised ‘Behind the Chair’ website and magazine.

Julian’s styling and Andrew’s image impressed the judging team in the ‘Editorial Category’ who selected it as their winner out of an initial entry of 47,000 pictures from all over the world!

At the weekend, Julian and her suppport team of Fiona McCaw, Courtney McGall and Ellen Blackadder flew to New Orleans for the finals and associated activities which truly are at the cutting edge of styling and haircare.

“Essentially we were given the task of creating the perfect hairdressing image using just one shot. We had to pick the one picture we felt demonstrated passion and skill. After that it was up to the judges and I’m delighted our work has been honoured in this way,” said Julian. “The entire process revolved around social media usage and the instagram app in particular.”

Aside from a well deserved gala evening at the plush Hyatt Hotel New Orleans where they will rub shoulders with some of the world’s leading haircare professionals, the team will also be taking part in a three day ‘Cut, Colour and Style Seminar’.
