Grand Saturday Night Out to celebrate Wayne’s success
At the end of August Wayne became the first person ever to swim between the Mull of Kintyre in Scotland and the north Antrim coastline in a marathon journey lasting more than 12 hours.
The exhausted 43 year old South African, staggered ashore at Kenbane Head between Ballycastle and Ballintoy on the 26th of August.

Now the Chairman of Moyle District Council Councillor Sandra Hunter is inviting the public to celebrate Wayne’s success at a Grand Saturday Night Out. Money raised from the event will go towards Wayne’s chosen charity – the Community Rescue Service.
The function is taking place in the Central Wine Bar in Ballycastle on October the 20th.
“What Wayne achieved is incredible and prior to the swim many believed it was virtually impossible to successfully overcome the ever-changing tides of the North Channel. Now Moyle District Council would like to thank Wayne and raise much needed funds for his chosen charity – C.R.S.”, says Councillor Hunter.

A drinks reception will take place at 8pm followed by a four course dinner.
Music will be provided by “LEGACY” and tickets are available from the Central Wine Bar or the Community Rescue Service (Ballycastle Branch).
The suggested minimum ticket donation is £25 pounds and all proceeds will fund the vital work of the Community Rescue Service (Ballycastle branch).
