HAJ Repair staff raise cash by losing for Macmillan

STAFF at a Bellaghy based mechanics not only gave up cash fundraising for a local cancer charity but went the extra mile by losing pounds as well!

Supported by team leader Marie Reynolds HAJ workers Harry Dempsey, Andrew Dempsey, Roger Patterson and Brian Nelson shed a combined 20 stone in a sponsored slim to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The HAJ staffers lost the pounds after joining Weight Watchers men’s class at Ballyclare.

The company also organised a football match in response to a number of cancer cases in the local area.

Moyola Park Football Club hosted a match between Moyola Park Football Club and the Countryman Football Team in Ballymena in November 2011. This event was supported by all family and friends who provided hot soup and stew for all who attended. Transport was provided by DC Coaches. Staff presented the cheque

Speaking about the team’s fundraising efforts HAJ’s Andrew Dempsey said: “Losing weight was good but we all agree that sponsorship was the most important part for Macmillan nurses.”
