The route includes a section of The Moyle Way and passes close to Slieveanorra Forest Nature Reserve. The day will begin with a guided tour of Altnahinch Water Treatment Works after which, walkers will explore the wider catchment area.

A Forest Service guide will be on hand to answer questions on the walk through Slieveanorra Forest and there will be the opportunity to ascend to the summit of Slieveanorra itself (508 metres) to appreciate the panoramic views (weather permitting!). All walkers should bring a packed lunch and warm, waterproof clothing.

There is one steep hill ascent and the going may be rough underfoot and marshy in places. Assemble at 10.30am at Townhead Street Car Park, Ballymoney or 11am at Altnahinch Water Treatment Works, Altnahinch Road.

The walk costs £2 per person with a family concession of £5. For further information on this event, or other walks in the Programme, please contact the Countryside Access Officer on 028 2766 0227 or visit www.ballymoney.gov.uk
