Hog roast will raise funds for new Orange Hall

A major fund-raising event in Stranocum on Saturday, July 9, will go towards the building of a new Orange Hall.

Plans have been in the pipeline for some time and the Lodge - 749 - have submitted a formal application to construct a new building a short distance from the existing hall which has served the Loyal Orders and band for scores of years.

Members are hoping that planners will give the proposal the thumbs-up.

Brethren at the Lodge feel the time is right to move forward and create a building which will accommodate a multitude of events and be available to all sections of the community.

The Hog Roast is just one of a number of events being planned to help the Lodge reach their target.

The venue - Gardner’s Farm - is regularly used for social events and the Stranocum Lodge are confident of a good turn out on the night - just three days before they celebrate the Twelfth of July in Ballycastle.

Tickets cost £12 and for that there will be a good meal and dancing to Freefall, a group who have gained a reputation for catering to all tastes in music.
