Fire safety advice leaflets have been delivered directly to households in the area with food hampers as part of the multi-agency response to the campaign for increased vigilance. Cllr Morrow said: “With more people at home for longer periods of time during the Covid-19 pandemic, it is essential that we all take steps to ensure our homes are safe for our families.” Station Commander Alan Barr from Ballymena District said: “Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, NIFRS cannot engage with the community in the way it previously enjoyed. However, people are still vulnerable from the risk of fire in the home.

“Therefore, by working in partnership with voluntary groups and Mid and East Antrim Council we can continue to develop our theme of ‘Safer Together’. Even though NIFRS are not conducting community outreach activities, the public can still avail of the HFSC service by calling 028 92664221 or booking one via our website www.nifrs.org”
