And to help them raise money for the project they are holding a fundraiser in Garryduff Presbyterian Church Hall on Saturday, December 6, between 10am-4pm.

The group, a contingent from the Christian organisation Ignite, are to spend two weeks at community-based Kiwoko Hospital in Nakaseke district, in February next year.

A spokesman told the Times they hope “to bring practical and spiritual support to people in need” there.

But as well as raising funds for the project, they also hope get their hands dirty and lay some bricks themselves.

Ignite spokesman Paul Sayers, said: “The two week trip is very much to encourage the staff around Kiwoko Hospital. We hope to fund and help with the building of an office block at the hospital.

“The team pays their own way for this trip, but our goal is to raise funds to complete as many projects as possible in Uganda.

“Already we have had a Big breakfast, after-church lunch, Dublin marathon run [and] Christmas gift sale.

“Thanks to all those that have supported our outreach over the years and again this year,” Mr Sayers added.
