The Mayor of Londonderry Alderman Drew Thompson, who opened the 'Musical Magic', concert in The Millennium Forum with the help of Paul Young, trumpet player with the Ulster Orchestra and pupils Aaron Quigley, Model PS and Rachel Hepburn, Fountain PS. Musical Magic is an education project developed by the Ulster Orchestra's education department to introduce 7-11 year olds to the instruments of the orchestra. LS05-530MT.

Fountain Primary School scooped the 'Gold Oak' title in the Yellow Woods Challenge, a environmental campaign run by Derry City Council, The Woodland Trust and Yellow Pages. The Mayor of Londonderry Alderman Drew Thompson, presents the first prize to Joshua Sprogg-Smith, who along with Amy McIntyre were the overall individual winners in the competition. Included are Julie Hannaway, waste minimisation and recycling officer with Derry City Council and 'Kirk' the woodland creature. LS13-526MT.
