Is your garden best-kept?

GREEN-FINGERED residents of Ballycarry are being encouraged to enter the village’s best-kept garden competition.

Organised by Ballycarry Community Association, the annual contest invites entries from residents keen to show off their best gardening efforts from window boxes or hanging baskets to vegetable patches and beautiful blooms.

This year there are categories for the best kept street, small garden, medium garden, large garden, window box or hanging basket display, the garden with the most interesting feature, the best kept garden in Brackenberg area, the best kept senior citizen’s garden, the best fruit and vegetable garden and the best nature or wildlife garden.

A variety of prizes are up for grabs.

Residents can enter - or be entered by friends - by completing one of the entry forms to be found in any of the village shops.

Judging is due to take place on July 25, with prizes up for grabs including trophies and gardening vouchers to spend in local gardening centres.

Competition entries should be received by the Ballycarry Community Association, 41a Main Street, Ballycarry by Friday, July 22.
