Island Arts Centre welcomes Eleanor McEvoy to the city

ELEANOR McEvoy, one of Ireland’s most accomplished singer/songwriters will play the Island Arts Centre next month.

She is one of Ireland’s most accomplished contemporary female singer/songwriters and her critically acclaimed canon of work spans nine albums, several singles and appearances on numerous compilation albums. Her songs have been covered by the likes of Emmylou Harris, Mary Black and Mary Coughlan, amongst others.

She has released albums on the Geffen and Columbia record labels and continues to tour the world over to her ever-increasing legion of fans. Respected as a fine multi instrumentalist (violin, guitar, piano) in both traditional and contemporary music, she is best known for Only A Woman’s Heart, the title track of an anthology album that’s gone on to be the best selling recording in Irish chart history.

Eleanor performed as part of the 20th Anniversary Woman’s Heart tour earlier this year and sang at a concert to celebrate the recent visit to Ireland of Aung San Suu Kyi in Grand Canal Square.
