Jordan gets on his bike - literally - for mental health

A young Coleraine man is ‘getting on his bike’ to raise funds for a mental health charity.

Jordan Greer is aiming to cycle 20 kilometres every day for 20 days during December on his exercise bike.

During the last lockdown period, Jordan started a mental health awareness page on Facebook to provide support for people struggling during the pandemic.

However, Jordan said: “It became something so much bigger than just a page. I had people reaching out to me from all over the world for help and someone to talk too.

“I did a charity event during last lockdown in which I streamed for 15 hours straight. We raised nearly £1,500 for Young Minds, a mental health charity that supports and provides help for younger people and their mental health.

“Now I am doing an event during December in which I am cycling everyday on my exercise bike from home. I am doing 20km every single day for 20 days straight - all while also working in the hectic retail world!

“This will be streamed live on my twitch ”@Jordytalks” so people can jump in and support. This again is in aid of Young Minds UK, a charity that I have worked closely with. Everyone can donate via my “Just Giving” page which is: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/jordan-greer-2020

“Mental health is something close to my heart and I take it very seriously. I lost my best mate a few years back due to this and this has made me push on to try make a difference and help others.” Jordan’s challenge will continue until December 20.
