The Little Princess Trust is a UK charity that provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people, up to the age of 24, who have lost their hair as a result of cancer treatment or other illnesses.

Little Katie-Rose McLaughlin had her hair cut just before lockdown by her hairdresser Natalie Donaghy.

As well as this kind gesture, Katie-Rose also fundraised for the Children’s Heartbeat Trust.

Katie-Rose’s mum Gillian said: “She raised £430 and we donated it to a charity close us, The Children’s Heartbeat Trust, who support children with congenital heart conditions at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Belfast.

“Katie-Rose has had four major heart surgeries, three of which were open heart. It has been three years since her last surgery and she gets checked every ten months. We have been told she will need more surgery. Thankfully she is keeping well at the minute. We cannot thank the Children’s Heartbeat Trust enough for their support.

“Also her school Lislagan Primary hold a disco every year for the charity, organised by the P7’s. This year was their fifth year and they have raised to date over £2000 which is amazing! They have two children in the school with congenital heart disease.”

Well done, Katie-Rose and Lislagan PS!
