Kells & Connor slimmers dreaming of a light Christmas

We’re all familiar with the 12 days of Christmas but one Kells and Connor slimming club is counting down the 12 weighs of Christmas – and planning to be slimmer by the end of them.

As well as making their Christmas lists and planning their Christmas shopping, members of the Kells and Connor Slimming World group are embarking on a 12-week mission to slim down in time for Christmas and the New Year.

The Kells and Connor group, which is held at Kells and Connor community Centre, Glenann Walk Kells every Thursday at 7.30pm, celebrated the launch of their seasonal slim with an early Christmas party, complete with Christmas decorations and party food.

Alex O’Neill, who runs the Kells and Connor Slimming World group, said: “The run-up to Christmas is really busy for most people, it can play havoc with our regular routines and there are lots of extra occasions like Halloween, Bonfire Night and Christmas dos that can make it harder than usual to manage our weight. So it’s easy to reach January a few pounds heavier than we were before. In fact, sadly lots of people write off their weight loss resolutions until the New Year, even though they’d love to be feeling lighter and brighter for the party season.

“So the aim of our 12 Weeks of Christmas is to show everyone that it’s possible to slim down with Slimming World whatever the time of year, and anyone who gets started now could easily be a stone – or even two – lighter by January.”

Anyone who would like to join the Kells and Connor group on their seasonal slim down is welcome. And, as an extra early Christmas gift, if you join before November 2 and buy a 12-week Countdown – that’s 12 weeks membership and all the support you’ll need to slim successful through to January – will get a free copy of Slimming World’s Christmas Made Extra Easy recipe book woth £4.95.

The Kells and Connor Slimming World group is held every Thursday at 7.30pm at Kells and Connor Community Centre, Glenann Walk Kells, new members can simply pop along or call Alex O’Neill on 07843111880 for more information.
