Lammas Fair’s Street Entertainers 2013 Prizewinners

The Chair of Moyle District Council announced the prizewinners for this year’s Lammas Fair Street Entertainers’ Competition in a ceremony held in Port na Gree House in Ballycastle on the first day of the Fair.

The competition was judged by the chair Councillor Cara McShane, along with Cllrs Robert McIlroy and Margaret McKillop There were prizes in both junior and intermediate categories.

Speaking about the competition, Councillor McShane, said: “The standard was very high and it was great to see so many local and visiting musicians, singers and street entertainers taking part, helping to add to the lively atmosphere of the Lammas Fair.”

Junior prizes - 1st The Celtic Musicians, 2nd Cassie McArthur and Somhairle Mathers.

Intermediate prizes:

1st prize Eve and Dervla Gardiner, 2nd Luiseach Mathers, Anna Duncan, Marese O’Hagan, Sorcha Hughes, 3rd Ciara Mathers, Eilidh de Buitleir, Maebh O’Neill, Maeve Kelly.

Highly commended: Mark Gardiner (duo); Paddy 
Sloan.
