Leading Bible teacher to visit Ballyeaston church

LEADING Bible teacher Desi Maxwell will be in First Ballyeaston Presbyterian Church for a six week series of meetings from Wednesday, September 12 to October 17.

The meetings each Wednesday begin at 8pm.

The theme for the series is ‘Jesus in His Jewish World’.

Over the six nights Desi will look at different aspects of the world in which Jesus lived - to help better understand what Jesus did and said.

The talks will examine some of the core issues of the Christian faith.

Desi Maxwell is a gifted speaker, one who has the ability to explain the Bible in a simple way and bring incredible insights into the Jewish background of the Christian faith.

His style is vibrant and full of life, and he deals with deep subjects in a way that makes it easy for the average person to understand.

Commenting on Desi’s ministry, Dr David Shepherd, principal of Belfast Bible Colleges, said: “Desi doesn’t merely bring the Bible to life, he brings its wisdom to bear on every aspect of life.”

Now living in Lisburn, Desi’s teaching ministry takes him all over Ireland and much further afield to Croatia, Ukraine, Hungary, Romania and Africa. He also leads travel groups to Israel.

Desi has spent seven years in pastoral ministry and twenty years lecturing at Belfast Bible College, before seeking to bring the classroom to the living room through ‘Xplorations’, a ministry he founded with his wife Heather.

The Ballyeaston meetings are open to all and a warm welcome is extended to anyone who wishes to come along to hear Desi explain about the Bible and its relevance for everyday life.
