Lisburn band takes to the stage for charity gig

LISBURN band Everyday Superheroes will take to the stage at the Oh Yeah Music Centre next month for an all ages fundraiser in aid of Cancer Research UK and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The fundraiser is being organised by three teenagers - Lindsey Adams, Claire McKeown and Adam Getty - who all feel connected to the charities in some way and wanted to help them raise funds.

Lindsey explained: “We have all lost relatives and close friends to cancer, so the work of Cancer Research UK is very important to all of us. We all feel that it is essential to do as much as we can to help Cancer Research UK to spread awareness of cancer treatments and to try to ensure that as many people as possible know of the kind of treatments that are available.

“As for Make-A-Wish Foundation UK, we felt that it is a totally inspirational charity. If we can help them to grant just one child’s wish, then we have achieved what we started out to do. They do absolutely amazing work with kids, and we just want to try to help them.”

The gig will take place at Oh Yeah Music Centre in Belfast on Saturday December 10. Everyday Superheroes from Lisburn will be joined by Coldshot from Ballymena and Antrim based Rewind.

Doors open at 7pm. A minimum donation of £5 is payable at the door, with proceeds being split between the two charities.
