Lisburn ladies end season on a high note

LISBURN Harmony Ladies Choir will hold their End of Year Show in the Island Hall on Saturday April 14 and will be welcoming some friends to join them.

The local choir will be joined by German Choir FrauenTerz from Ladenburg, Germany and the Baillies Mills Accordion Band. The choir was established in September 2010 by Kirsty Orr (Musical Director) and has a membership of 80 women from Lisburn City and the wider community. The choir recently had the privilege of being invited to sing at Stormont and will be hoping to make a return trip to Germany in the future.

FrauenTerz are joining LHLC from Germany, they were first established in 2006 by Sabine Dietenberger. The relationship with FrauenTerz came about because one of the members, Kerstin Marshall, a classroom assistant in St. Aloysius Primary School, came originally from Germany and her sister currently sings with FrauenTerz in Ladenburg.

The band was established in 1939 and their ethos is to bring pleasure and enjoyment through music to audiences throughout the Province and beyond. They travel widely to fulfil engagements and have toured Scotland, Donegal, Norway and Jersey.

The show on Saturday April 14 begins at 7.45pm and will feature songs from The Sound of Music, The Wizard of Oz and Sister Act as well as numbers by Snow Patrol, the Beatles and The Military Wives.
