Lisburn schoolgirl wins dream ticket to Sleeping Beauty

SANTA faced stiff competition from a Lisburn schoolgirl who won free tickets for her entire class to see Sleeping Beauty at Belfast Waterfront.

Nine year-old Emma Turner, a P5 pupil at Lisburn’s Ballinderry Primary School, won the Sleeping Beauty pantomime Schools Colouring Competition.

Emma’s winning prize was free entry for her entire class to Sleeping Beauty and a chance to have their pictures taken with the pantomime stars after the show.

Thousands of competition entries were received from 139 primary schools from all over Northern Ireland, with Emma’s entry selected as the competition winner by the Sleeping Beauty cast.

Sleeping Beauty is already proving an enormous hit with audiences flocking to the Waterfront to catch the greatest fairytale of them all. So Emma was even more delighted to win some of the hottest tickets in town for everyone in her class.

Sleeping Beauty stars local actor and former UTV reporter, Ivan Little, in his first ever panto dame role as Lady MaMa. Sleeping Beauty and the Prince are played by Karen Hawthorne and Michael Lavery, with Tara Lynne O’Neill as the Fairy Pimpleton, Mary Moulds as Cheryl Dole and Julie Maxwell as Katie Ferry.

Presented by LANA Productions, Sleeping Beauty is produced by Martin Lynch and Joe Rea, written by PJ O’Reilly and directed by Lisa May.

Sleeping Beauty runs until Saturday January 5. With tickets already disappearing fast, booking now is highly advised to avoid disappointment.
