Lisnagarvey goes ‘Wild West’ with ‘Annie Get Your Gun’

FOLLOWING on from last year’s sell-out ‘Sound of Music’ Lisnagarvey Operatic Society is delighted to present Irving Berlin’s ‘Annie Get Your Gun’ in the Island Hall from April 16 until April 20.

Based on the true story of hot shot Annie Oakley’s and William F Cody’s (Buffalo Bill) Wild West Show, this is the first time the Society will have performed the show in Lisburn

With more hits than most other stage musicals of its kind, including “Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better”, “The Girl That I Marry”, “The Sun in The Morning & The Moon At Night” and the iconic “There’s No Business Like Show Business”, it is one not to miss.

The multi-award winning production team includes Wilfie Pyper (Director), Ian Milford (Musical Director) and Angela Montgomery (Choreographer).

To play the lead part of sharpshooter Frank Butler, in this Irving Berlin classic the society is delighted to welcome back home a man that has earned a collection of Awards for Acting, Comedy, Direction and Choreography as well as three special awards for his contributions to Musical Theatre in Ireland and has performed in over 250 musicals. Lisburn’s very own Peter Kennedy, who has “tread the boards” many times with the society and numerous other companies.

As a writer and composer, Peter has been responsible for the creation of nine full length musicals and is delighted to participate once again with Lisnagarvey, with whom he has had many happy adventures in the past.

So be sure to be “Doing What Comes Naturally” and book early for AGYG to avoid disappointment.
