Local Drama Group opens its doors

Quadrangle Productions is a local Drama Group based in Ballycastle but open to anyone in Moyle and beyond.

Our mission is to work closely with the local community and its youth to promote the Arts in a positive light it to make the Arts accessible to all. At present we have two sections to our group, the Junior Section, which is open to anyone aged 7 to 11 years and the Senior Section which is open to anyone aged 12 - 21.

Throughout the year we work on a number of different activities but our major events are a Variety Concert in November and a small showcase performance in May.

Our classes will be starting again on Saturday 25th August with a ‘Get to Know You’ session. On Saturday 25th the class times will be as follows: Seniors will be in from 1 - 2pm and Juniors will be in from 2 - 3pm. If you want to find out what our group is like then this is the perfect session to attend.

After that, our classes will run every other Saturday (from 8th September) throughout September and October and every Saturday in November to get ready for the Variety Performance.

Rehearsal Times are as follows, Juniors have class from 2 - 3.30pm and Seniors have class from 3.30 - 6pm. We meet in the Mc Alister Hall in Ballycastle. The fee for September to November is £60 for juniors and £80 for seniors. Payments can also be made on a monthly basis at £25 per month for juniors and £30 per month for seniors. If there are two or more people coming from the same family the 2nd+ child can join half price.

Also - This year, we are thinking about setting up an Adult Theatre Group for anyone over 18 - there is no upper age limit. If this is something you would be interested in then we encourage you to come along to a meeting being held on Thursday 30th August at 7.30pm in Ballycastle’s Youth Links Building. It’s really important that people who would like to be involved in adult drama group turn out so that we can gauge whether or not we can actually run one.
