Last Wednesday, Sperrin Integrated College, where Debbie teaches, hosted the offical Northern Ireland launch.

‘Death and Co’ follows Adam, a Luman, whose job it is to escort the dead to the afterlife.

It’s the family business that his older brothers relish, but Adam just wants to be a normal teenage boy – one who likes girls, hates the Head and has a pile of homework to get through. When Adam gets a terrible premonition he realises that he must make a devastating choice, risking his life, his family and his destiny.

As a child the Portstewart mother liked making up stories and even wrote some down, including a thriller about a stolen wallaby.

She’s delighted to have secured an international three book deal with publisher Hot Key Books.

Describing the story, Debbie tells: “This is a tense and exciting three part epic sequence.”

One reader described the book as: “ Great fun, a brilliant and sometimes thoughtful read for teens. Deals, quite literally, with questions surrounding fate and death whilst also dragging a clueless teenage boy through the minefield that is ‘girls’. Cleverly written and surprisingly convincing.
