Loreto marks 90th anniversary with new website

Loreto College looks forward to welcoming new students to Year 8 and Year 13 in September 2021

Unfortunately, with planned 90th anniversary celebrations cut short by the Covid-19 pandemic from March 2020 onwards, the College has begun the belated celebrations this week with the official launch of its new website.

The new website is packed with information about each of the different subjects available and the college’s excellent facilities as well as details about the vast array of extra-curricular activities and school trips on offer to students. The wide selection of pictures and videos on the website portrays a strong sense of the College’s characteristic ethos of Pastoral Care and provides an excellent means by which to communicate with past, current and new pupils and

parents.

The website also plays host to the College’s first ever Virtual Open Day which gives prospective Loreto students, whether hoping to join Year 8 or Year 13, a vivid impression of the life and community in Loreto College as well as providing a glimpse of some learning and extra-curricular activities going on, and an impression of the musical, dramatic and sporting talents of the College’s students and the opportunities open to them.

These videos are well worth a watch by all Primary 6 and 7 pupils making the very important choice about their post primary education. The website can be accessed at http://www.loretocollege.org.uk/

As 2021 continues, everyone at Loreto College hopes that it will be possible once the current Covid-19 restrictions are relaxed, to celebrate the wonderful achievement of 90 years of excellence fully, together, as well as virtually. It is hoped that, perhaps in the Summer Term, celebrations will be held involving current students and staff, former students and staff, friends of the college and parents and our guests of honour The Loreto Sisters.
