Maritime food maestros at Clipper Race Kitchens

Internationally renowned French chef Jean-Christophe Novelli will join NI culinary maestros Jenny Bristow, Paula McIntyre, Noel McMeel, Brian McDermott and Ian Orr, at Clipper Race Kitchens next weekend as part of the Foyle Maritime Festival.

The festival, which is hosted by Derry City and Strabane District Council, runs from July 9-17.

The gastronomic gala running at Ebrington Square from July 14-17, is expected to be one of the biggest events during Northern Ireland Year of Food and Drink 2016.

Novelli will cook from 1.30pm to 5pm on Friday, July 15, while the local chefs have slots throughout the four-day event.  Admission is free.

Mary Blake, Council’s Tourism Development Officer, said: “Clipper Race Kitchens is the biggest event in our Year of Food calendar as we showcase LegenDerry food and produce from across our Council district and beyond.

“This is an excellent opportunity to profile the city as a leading food destination with international appeal, particularly following our success last year as runner-up in Ireland’s Foodie Towns competition.”

Clipper Race Village will be the destination for the finest street food.
