Mayor learns about community effort during Covid-19

The new Mayor of the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council took time out from his busy schedule recently to visit Millburn Community Association and learn about the Covid-19 community support services they have been providing.

Cllr Mark Fielding heard about the support services they have in place covering Millburn, Ballysally, Harpur’s Hill and the surrounding areas.

The group offer a daily hot meal service for the elderly and vulnerable and people in isolation in addition to their food delivery services; a prescription delivery service in partnership with Henderson’s Pharmacy; food parcel deliveries and a daily free bread delivery service.

They also launched a community supermarket which was formerly the food bank where people can collect food or leave a donation if they wish.

During the Mayor`s visit, he delivered a food package to local resident Anne Marie Gault.
