McAfee’s second sale of the year

FOLLOWING on from McAfee Auctions’ two night sale in Ballymoney, their second sale of the year takes place in Portrush, on behalf of the long and well-established Alexander Antiques due to the change in trading policy.

The sale on Thursday evening, January 31st at 7pm comprises of a good mix of drawing room, dining room and bedroom furniture and also includes a selection of Irish Art and a selection of collectibles including Royal Worcester, Doultons, Hummells, Belleek, Staffordshire etc.

 Among the many pieces of furniture on offer is a double pedestal partners desk, which one graced the offices of Harland and Wolff, a pine kneehole desk ex-Runkerry House, Bushmills, a nice georgian sideboard, two turn over leaf Biedemeix tables, secretaire cabinet, display cabinet, mirror backed and other sideboards, lots of chair sets including a Chippendale style set of 10 chairs, a duchess and other dressing tables, a selection of chests, pine blanket box, pine plate rack, corner display cabinet, drop leaf tables and a selection of occassional tables and chairs.

 Irish art includes pieces by George Gillespie, Sam McLarnon, James McConnell, Alan Ardies and others, and there is also a selection of hunting and other prints, two gilt framed plaques, a nice gilt framed three compartment overmantle, other overmantles and a number of wall mirrors.  Collectibles include a nice selection of Royal Worcester pieces, Doulton and Hummell figurines, pieces of Masons ironstone, lots of Staffordshires, a collection of Belleek, Wade, crystal and other pieces.

 Other pieces of furniture include a Sutherland table, writing box, stool frames, cottage lamp, three piece cottage suite, restoration pieces, curio cabinet etc etc.
