Moira Friendship Group plans a busy autumn

MOIRA Friendship Group launched its Autumn 2012 programme at its Open Day this week.

The Friendship Group has an exciting and varied range of activities for people who are over 50, living in Moira and the surrounding area.

The group has recently celebrated its 10th anniversary, by winning the Mayor’s Award for Volunteering in the Age Category.

Established with the aim of promoting Friendship among older people the group operates from St John’s Parish Hall.

However Moira Friendship Group is an independent cross-community group with its own management board.

As always there is something for everyone to join in. The autumn programme includes walking groups, arts and crafts, painting, pilates, 50+ aerobics, bridge, bowls, badminton and many others.

Information talks, days trips and social events are all part of what the group offers, with the aim of satisfying the need of the community.
