New monthly music nights for Lisburn

ARTISTIC and musical expressionism is set to burst into the live public arena as Alexander’s Bar, Lisburn, kick off a new monthly music extravaganza.

Commencing proceedings tomorrow night (Saturday June 16), and continuing on a monthly basis, ‘One Word Productions’ (still in its infancy) aims to assist, support, and more specifically, be the vehicle, platform and promotional drive of assistance to artists and musicians throughout the province.

Lisburn is now set to play host to a kaleidoscope of acts on a monthly basis. Aware of the cultural musical integrity that has been growing, and which continues to cultivate, one word productions aims are to elevate all genres and sub-genres of musical expression and provide a public platform that is inclusive to all artists/musicians and groups alike.

Aware of both old and new up and coming acts/groups, and acknowledging a lack of live venues to elevate the integrity of young regional artists and their musical expressions, the core aim of one word productions is to change such a restricted and limited scenario which will both contribute to the field of Arts and Culture within the city of Lisburn.

Innovative art/music and cultural seeds of expression have been seen, heard, and are now finally sown, and both the stage and the setting have now been set.

First to emerge on the evening shall be Ash Smith, an acoustic musician that has been gaining momentum and attracting wide appeal and drawing audiences throughout many locations both near and far afield. Ash is known to go it solo, collaborate through duets, and to proceed in band mainframe (Whanau), through tweaking pedals and creating an ambience of pure clarity, with soul-like virtue.

Ash is followed by a well known musician that is no stranger to the Lisburn local audience, Static (or Statician Ian). Known to appear with his acoustic at the ready, Static has captivated audiences on many levels and is renowned to appeal to many a live room and audience, and also collaborates with his local crew and band (Pretty Cartel), who are grabbing widespread appeal and selling out shows at local levels expanding forward in a very positive direction.

Kicking up a racket throughout the last couple of years, with their brick wall punk attitude are headlining act Buck Eejit. Something to be experienced, Buck Eejit are gaining momentum and appeal since their insertion throughout many venues in Belfast. Their homebrew roots are sure not to disappoint, as the four local lads have been brewing up a storming set and catapulting catastrophic charisma wherever and whenever permitted.

So come one, and come all, and support your local music scene and artists. Drinks promotions throughout the night.
