New President elected at Ballymena Soroptimists

The Ballymena branch of the Soroptimist International is a small and dedicated group of ladies who work hard through fundraising in support of various local charities.

Some of their most recent work has been in aid of The Macmillan Trust, Antrim Area Hospital, The Antrim Counselling Centre, Cancer Research UK, Women’s Aid, and Gemma’s Fund, which helps fund an epilepsy support/alert dog for a local mother.

In addition to this, Ballymena Soroptimists have also supported good causes further afield such as Mums for Mums and the BIG project (Birthing in the Gambia).

In her first speech as newly elected President of the Ballymena branch, June Hamill stated that she wishes to build upon her predecessor’s commitment to the club’s fundraising work and intends strengthening the numbers of the ladies within the club.

If anyone feels they can give some of their valuable time to help the club to progress and build upon the work within our community please contact visit www.sigbi.org/northern-ireland/
