New Year Roads boost for Ballymoney

Transport Minister Danny Kennedy MLA has revealed an improvement scheme representing an investment of around £270,000 is set to get underway on the A44 Drones Road, Ballymoney.

The resurfacing scheme is expected to begin on Monday 12 January and will extend from Kilmandil Road, northwards for approximately 2.2km towards Knockahollet Road. The scheme is expected to be substantially completed by Friday 23 January.

Minister Kennedy said: “This scheme will greatly improve the strength and surface quality of this stretch of the A44 carriageway serving Ballymoney and towards the North Coast.”

To help ensure the safety of road users and contractors, traffic management including a closure of Drones Road will be necessary from 12 to 23 January. Well signposted diversions for through traffic will be in place via A26 Frosses Road and C86 Knockahollet Road. Local access will be maintained.
